A collaboration within the energy and environmental industries to drive economic growth, diversification, investment, and awareness through the lens of sustainability and the pursuit of net zero in Newfoundland and Labrador’s energy sector.

In addition to substantial oil reserves, Newfoundland and Labrador has significant natural gas resources; however, to date, this gas has been reinjected into the producing reservoirs.  As it pertains to hydrogen, The Net Zero Project is focused on driving industry and government to develop this energy resource for both traditional utilization as well as production of low-carbon blue hydrogen.  To achieve this, The Net Zero Project assists in attracting investment, establishing alignment on R&D priorities, and working with industry and other key stakeholders to advance projects in the areas of CCS and blue hydrogen in Newfoundland and Labrador.
